Summer School: Yeditepe University (18 June – 3 August 2007)
It is aiming to enhance students' interest in the academic fields concerning modern Turkey. Participants will have the opportunity to choose amongst the following courses: International Business in Turkish Context, Turkish Economy, Introduction to Turkish Law, Contemporary Turkish Politics, Modern Turkish History, Turkish Culture and Society, Turkish Cuisine, and Turkish Language and Culture. The courses are designed in high academic standards and conducted in English. The program is learning-intensive, challenging and ideal for those who want to have in-depth knowledge on Turkey. After successfully completing the Summer School, students will be able to have transferable credits.
Yeditepe University was established in 1996. Its picturesque main campus is located at the foot of a mountain - Kayisdagi, a central location on the Anatolian side of Istanbul looking over the city and the Sea of Marmara. The campus, with its original buildings of the centuries-old Seljukian style, has all the facilities needed for contemporary high-quality university education.
As the dates coincide with Yeditepe University's regular summer program, the applicants will have the chance to attend lectures with regular Yeditepe students, share their ideas and participate in organizing events and educational trips in and outside Istanbul. Moreover, applicants will also have the opportunity to join in the regular courses offered by Yeditepe University during the Summer Term.
Each of the courses in the list costs 800 USD. However, the Turkish Language and Culture course is 400 USD as a compliment. University accommodation costs 10 USD per person per night.
